Urban Land & Housing Group – Tenant Tips – How Much Notice Do I Need To Give To Vacate?

There is a lot of confusion surrounding vacating notices so we have tried to simplify it the best we can.

If you wish to vacate your rental property and your fixed term lease has expired (ie your lease has expired), you need to provide a minimum 21 days notice.

If your lease expiry is approaching and you would like to move out at the end of the lease, 14 days notice prior to the lease expiry date is required.

Please note that your notice to vacate must be in writing, it is always a good idea to contact your agent once you have given notice to confirm that they have received it.

Please contact me if you have any further questions regarding vacating.

Thanks Rachael
