A lot of tenants think that the best way to get your repairs done sooner is to stop paying rent, this isn’t the case because this looks bad on your tenancy ledger and could prevent you from getting another rental property in the future.

If you feel you have had to wait too long for your repairs to be completed the best option is to contact the agent and ask for an update and an estimated time that the repair will be completed, it is also a good idea to ask your agent for the phone number of the trades person that will be repairing the issue so you can also follow them up if need be.

Another thing that is a must do is to always email the agent after your phone call with what was spoken about so that you always have a record of communication.
