Am i responsible for pest control as a landlord?

The question of who is responsible for maintaining and paying for pest control at an investment property often arises.
Generally the tenant is responsible for pest control should this be something they want to maintain for peace of mind knowing the property has been sprayed.However if there is a pest problem generally most landlords are happy to pay the cost of having the problem rectified.

I usually suggest to my landlords that they have the property sprayed each time a tenant vacates to ensure it is fresh and pest free prior to a new tenant moving in.This is also something that can arranged through your agent and paid from the rent so it is as hassle free for you as possible.
