Majority of investment properties have a number of appliances installed in the property such as air-conditioning, dishwasher and motorised garage doors just to name a few.
It is very important and beneficial that all appliances are regularly serviced by a qualified technician as this can save the landlord a lot of money in the future when the appliance breaks down or stops working completely.
When the appliances are regularly serviced it can also give them a longer life expectancy again saving the landlord money.
Another factor to consider is if the major appliance such as an air-conditioner breaks down and the tenant has to go for a number of weeks without the air-con working while a part is ordered or a technician is available the tenant may be able to seek compensation or a reduction in rent for the inconvenience of not having the property in the condition they are paying weekly rent for.
The best way to avoid any of these problems arising is to have your appliances serviced regularly. We recommend for most appliances that they be serviced at least once a year.
