Whether you own a brand new property or one that is a number of years old it is critical to ensure that the smoke alarms are working correctly. In some instances we have come across homes where smoke alarms are not installed, are not installed correctly or else where the batteries have expired. The NSW Residential Tenancies Act prescribe that landlords are legally responsible to ensure that smoke alarms are fitted and it is a five minute task to ensure compliance
